IguodaLOVE

alright if you've read my past entries it MIGHT look like i have no love for iggy. i've said that trading him was an option. but it's misleading because i'm just looking out for the future of this franchise. i would love to keep iggy on this team. i was just saying that BECUZ brand seems like an immovable contract, we should look into shedding some money with our ONLY real asset that people would consider worth trading for. and the only reason i think thats an option is because, even though i love what he brings, he's being overpaid. we paid him franchise money but he's not a franchise player. it's been his team for awhile and it feels like he's just not there. he's had his clutch shining moments.. but the moments are too far between each other.

anyway.. after we drafted evan turner (as expected.. and if that didn't happen, i wrote a letter to my congressman asking him to destroy the arena) i got excited once again. soo yeaaa i've been on youtube lookin at season highlights and wanted to share this andre iguodala video i stumbled upon. iggy's nasty man.. i never questioned it. its just not franchise nasty. thats why i love this evan turner pick.. the offense is gonna get moving more.. and contrary to popular belief.. iggy is not a dominant ball handler.. it worked fine when andre miller was here. so i'm expecting to see a lot more production from iggy this year. jrue and evan are good distributors with exceptional court vision.. soo seeing an iggy cut or iggy-oop will be a staple in the offense this upcoming season... enjoy!

Sixers Will Draft Evan Turner, According to Sixers' Website

Sixers Will Draft Evan Turner, According to Sixers' Website

im sure most of you saw this the other day. well i just think thats GREAT!

its no secret that doug collins has been heard to say that he absolutely likes derrick favors so that there was a slight possibility that wed take him at 2.. but hearing this gives me good assurance.

this makes the most sense for the short term part and financial part of this team. short term.. he's going to help out our offense immediately.. lets face it... we're not an offensive team. we were barely good at anything but what we did get right the most was defense. now thats great to have defense run our team.. but when the fastbreaks don't work.. we have to have a better half court set... and this will help us get the ball moving. financially this is good too because evan turner has the potential to get us selling tickets again. it was announced during a tnt game that sixers were in the bottom 5 of stadium attendance. so yes.. i believe the organization is suffering a bit.

plus favors is a project.. he's not going to be great right away. he'd be buried deep into the bench and will probably only get like 10-15 mins a game if that. and chance are.. it will be out of position because he's taller than brand and speights is undersized (strength wise) at center. so we don't really reap the benefits of favors yet. thus making us have another miserable season. and sucking the money out of the organizations wallet.

top 5 Mock Draft 1.0

1 - Washington Wizards - John Wall
in my opinion.. i really believe that down the line, the wizards will trade gilbert arenas. wizards cleaned house this past season. their core just got younger by trading out c. butler and a. jamison.. if you think this young team can win with just gilbert arenas you're wrong. john wall deserves to be the #1 pick no matter what team won the lottery. with this young core.... and john wall.. i dont see how they can coexist.. maybe dump arenas to the 2.. but lets face it.. both of these guys need the ball to be affective.

2 - Philadelphia 76ers - Evan Turner
i think this makes the most sense. they just traded dalembert so yea theyre missing a piece of defense. but the next best center in the draft is demarcus cousins, and for a young team.. i dont think hes right for its mentality. sources say hes got off-court issues.. and his attitude might be a problem. sixers need to add to its offense anyway. evan turner has proved to be an all-around type of player.. his ballhandling skills are up to point guard level.. soo moving the offense will be smoother.

3 - New Jersey Nets - Derrick Favors
people are saying this is a tough one for them.. but i think its a blessing in surprise.. if they WERE the #1 pick.. it would be tough to play john wall and devin harris without truly giving devin harris a run as the franchise player. really.. they would be in the wizards shoes right now. but since theyre #3, derrick favors is the best fit, best choice, and best prospect available. this is a young team. and they have a VERY promising young core. derrick favors has a lot of upside.. so it would be fine if he didnt start right away.. but the future would be harris, lee, t.will, FAVORS, lopez. lopez has become quite the offensive weapon lately.. and to pair him with an athletic defensive beast would make this a frontcourt duo to look out for in the future.

4 - Minnesota Timberwolves - Demarcus Cousins
al jefferson is their franchise player.. and to be honest.. hes not a center. he shouldnt be playing it. hes a natural 4. and when hes the 5 and love is the 4.. theyre very undersized.. yea i know they still prove to be effective rebounding wise.. but defensively it doesn't make much sense. to immediately make your franchise play better.. u need to put him in the right position. they could draft a wing player.. brewer came alive in the second half of the season.. but for the most part he is a question mark. wes johnson is a choice here too cuz he can run jump and shoot with the best of them.. but like i said.. big al should be built around.. sooo first things first.. get a decent center.

5 - Sacramento Kings - Wesley Johnson
this is a tough one.. they could use some pg help.. they just traded for dalembert but hes only got one year left on his contract.. soo if they want some insurance.. they should probably get a center just in case he doesnt work out or decides to bolt after a year. but after john wall.. the pg outlook isn't very pretty.. the best choice would be to go with the best player available (which is wesley) and try to make moves for a point guard. they need to build around tyreke evans. and he proved to be more effective at the 2. so a wingmate with wesley johnsons skills might not be a bad idea. draft johnson and then make moves for veteran help at the 1 and 5 positions.

Sixers Trade Analysis

first off... lemme just say congratulations to the lakers for winning a championship back to back.

second off.. i really could care less about the lakers or the celtics.. but that was a damn good series. i dont like either of them. butttttt... i do like ron artest, pau gasol, and ray allen. so thats the only reason i was rooting for the lakers.. lakers had less people that i hate.

anyway... so you may have heard that the sixers traded dalembert to the kings today. this is sort of a sideways progression..

strategy-wise... i can see what theyre going for.. dalembert's basketball IQ wasn't that great... neither were his hands.. if i had to guess.. even if it didn't result in a turnover.. it couldve resulted in a missed shot/opportunity... but he prolly averaged 2-3 miscues a game.. in the games i watched... whether it was not using both hands to catch a ball.. missing easy lay ups.. OFFENSIVE GOALTENDING.. DEFENSIVE GOALTENDING.. (those are in caps cuz those are my biggest gripes about him).

financially-wise... this didnt make any sense at all. this was dalembert's last contract year.. yet we traded him for 2 contracts.. 1 contract that still has 3 years on it.. andres nocioni is currently being overpaid and still has 3 years left on his.. noce plays the 3 and 4 positions.. currently we dont have enough spots for him.. iggy and young are going to be playing the 3 spot.. and not sure but i think they want to give kapono more time because at the end of this season, he started opening the lanes up for us.. then at the 4 we have: speights, brand, and young again.. im assuming theyre going to play jason smith more at the center position this next year. so already its pretty crowded at the positions he plays.. and we'll be paying him for those years. i understand picking up hawes.. cuz hes better offensively.. and a better passer than dalembert.. but noce brings up a minutes problem.

makes all the sense in the world for the kings but not for us. they wanted defense and rebounding.. thats wut they'll get.. plus noce didnt wanna play for them anymore.. soo they addressed it.

if the sixers draft derrick favors.. it makes less sense for this crowded 4 spot. unless they intend to play favors at the center more often. so again.. i hope they draft evan turner.. holiday, turner, and iguo already sounds like a good defensive perimeter trio.

i am hoping the sixers are looking into making another move. for the love of god get rid of willie green.. i ASSUME they traded for jodie meeks during the season to set them up for a willie green trade. that would relieve some salary cap space that is brought on from noce.

dalembert traded!

Philadelphia Sixers trade Samuel Dalembert to the Sacramento Kings for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes.

NBA Finals: Game 1 tonight!

LAKERS vs CELTICS........... again.

while 80-90% of the world is excited for this... i am one of the few that isn't excited. well, im excited to see the finals because im an NBA fan. but otherwise... i can't stand this crap that the media does to rivalries like the lakers/celtics. they strangled us to death with that stuff 2 years ago.. and because it hadn't happened in a while, everybody jumped on it. they haven't been as smothering this year, advertisement-wise, but every blog or website HAS to mention the other years of that rivalry.. blah blah blah.. i dont care.

anyway.. some things i think you should look out for tonight:

- pau gasol against the celtics frontline. unfortunately, i dont think andrew bynum will be much of a factor this series because of the recent news that he's still having trouble with his knee. lamar odom will help but i'm sure that KG, for the most part, has him covered.

- celtics bench over the lakers bench. i used to think that lakers had a really deep bench... but other than lamar odom, nobody has really stepped up on the bench. vujacic, although ive always thought he was a joke, ive always thought he was at least serviceable. doesn't even get much play nowadays.. farmar, hasn't really showed anything yet. which is disappointing considering he wants the starting pg job next year. and the only thing shannon brown is good at is dunking on fastbreaks. u won't get too many fastbreaks against the celtics. meanwhile, celtics bench has been on the up and up lately. tony allen, nate robinson (i hate this guy), glen davis are all coming together nicely.

- kobe and artest over rayray and pierce. kobe and artest are the better defensive duo... but rayray and pierce are the better offensive duo.

wut u guys think?

Sixers and Timberwolves

alright so most of you who actually follow to the sixers are probably aware of the rumor with the timberwolves.

"One trade rumor that briefly circulated here involved the Sixers and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves want Turner and would give the Sixers their No. 4 and No. 16 picks in exchange for the second pick."

well lets take that a step further now.. because thats the old rumor... the NEW rumor is that the timberwolves want evan turner (assuming that the wizards pick Wall) so badly that they're willing to give away Al Jefferson for the #2 pick... now u might say... "evan turner could possibly be a franchise player.. sooo why take jefferson?" well... theres the catch... word is that the sixers player that they are trying to get rid of the most is elton brand. and the timberwolves are willing to take on his atrocious overpaid contract in hopes of baiting the sixers to give them their #2 pick.

that means:
sixers - get Al Jefferson
t'wolves - get #2 pick (evan turner), elton brand

sixers starting lineup could be:
pg - jrue holiday
sg - andre iguodala
sf - thaddeus young
pf - al jefferson
c - samuel dalembert

wolves:
pg - jonny flynn
sg - #2 pick (evan turner)
sf - corey brewer
pf - kevin love
c - #4 pick

yes theyd still have their #4 pick... and im just assuming that they would draft the most capable center there... maybe demarcus cousins. he's slipped recently in the draftboard... but here he would make a lot of sense.. maybe they could trade the #4 pick for a lower pick and get a role player at the same time.

wolves outcome:
the timberwolves would be so loaded with young talent and their rookie contracts that having elton brand come off the bench wouldn't be a bad idea at all. soo yes this sixers/wolves trade makes all the sense in the world for them. and theres that slim chance that ricky rubio will come to town... but thats highly unlikely.

sixers outcome:
sixers get in al jefferson what they wanted in elton brand. a power forward who knows how to score in the post and can BE the go to scorer when needed. he's also a very good rebounder and is more athletic than elton brand. which fits the sixers play style better. the risk here is that in jefferson's 6 years, he has only played 1 full season. and the rest of his years have been injury plagued.

overall:
looks very good for the wolves if accepted.. but just so-so for the sixers. i would rather see them get evan turner with the second pick. and like i said... for the teams that don't win this offseason in the free agency craziness, we could probably move an unwanted contract outta here.
